I am German (born & raised) and just received this workbook for my children as to include also the writing/reading part into their learning.
After going over the book I realized that there are a number of spelling errors as well as grammatically incorrect sentence structures and just wrong choice (translation) of words - i will try to personally contact the author to correct these issues.
I am just a tad surprised that educational material is not being verified before publication and sale into the open market.

Very helpful book! I purchased it because I was going to be teaching an elementary-aged class in our co-op, but the class didn't end up on the schedule. I'm still glad I have this book, because I can use it with my own children! The worksheets are fun and helpful, and there are sheets available for a variety of ages and ability levels.

I am using this book to help prepare my children, who are 6,8, and 9 for a move to Germany in a couple of months. They love working on the activities and interactive learning is the best way to learn a language. i just wish that the book was a little thicker.

Finally, I know most coaches have a variety of baseline out of bounds plays to run. Most coaches seem to play zone against the baseline out of bounds. But when they choose to go man-to-man in this situation, I teach my team only one play. It is by far the most effective man-to-man baseline out of bounds play I have ever seen. This play is included in this book.

Great book for any coach

I bought this book in order to gain a few new concepts. It was that and a lot more. The breakdown of each offense is terrific and all the concepts are ways that truly do work. I would recommend this to any coach, or player who wants to have a better understanding of basketball and increase that IQ

Hot men in Tights!!!

After Cascades emotional and fantastic ending, Gabi and Lia find themselves racing back to 14th-Century Italy. For Gabi she is racing back to her true love, for Lia she races back to save her family and an unspoken romance that has risen in her own heart. Coming back this time however will have its consequences, getting back home will be almost impossible and perhaps out of the question now that a life hangs in the balance.

Gabi knows her family will be making a huge sacrifice to stay in ancient Italy but also knows she tied to Marcello in a way that cant be broken, that is until events change the political atmosphere surrounding Marcello and the nation of Sienna. With a shocking wrench thrown into the plotting, Gabi's life may take a completely new direction than she ever imagined. While those who love her fight back and Gabi risks everything, the torrent that threatens to devour them all rears it ugly head.

My favorite of three, Torrent was a fast rollercoaster of emotion, shocking plot twists and a gorgeous well-done end. I cant review any of the stuff that made Torrent what it was due to not spoiling it for readers, is all I can say is that things happened that I wanted to happen and things happened that shocked me. Lisa threw in some added drama for Gabi that she needed in order to truly see what being with Marcello would mean, she also by the end grew Gabi into a fully developed character that shreds the last lingering thoughts of a 21st century teenager yet still maintains her spunk, bravery and courage.

Now that Ive finally docked the boat after being on a river that turns, spins, crashes, rips you under with its current and then gently calms you with its tranquility, I must say reading the River of Time series has been a marvelous adventure. I love these novels more than cake and that's saying a lot!! Lisa Bergren with her Jedi Master skills at romance, history that doesn't put me to sleep and action that jumps off the pages had me at page one in Waterfall, made me fall in love in Cascade and stole my heart with Torrent. This is a series that will stick with you long after you finish......

Amazing Book, Amazing Series!

I cannot tell you how excited I was to receive my ARC copy of Torrent in the mail. It was Christmas in August. I proudly showed it to my whole family and then HID it from my daughter. She came in later and asked where it was and I told her that I hid it because I was going to read it first. (You know she didn't have to wait too long because I finished it the next day.)

This is the third book in the River of Time series. I have loved these books since the first time I laid eyes on them. If you haven't read them yet, you really should. I found so many things to love all the way through.

Love, loyalty, time travel, action, knights in shining armor and a good history lesson... You just can't ask for more.

This third book couldn't come fast enough for me. I was hoping for all kinds of resolution and good things. I was not disappointed at all. It felt so good to end the journey with Gabi and crew. Happily. :) The book is well written and the scenes are etched in my mind.

I sure wouldn't mind reading another series starring Lia and Luca. I sure think there is more of that story to tell! Well, it could be that while I am utterly satisfied with the ending of Torrent, I still just want more.

I really don't want to give away the book and the twists so I'm just going to have to tell you to pick up these books, starting with Waterfall and Cascade and ending with Torrent. They are one of my favorite series. I will be reading these books again. I'm also happy to say that these books are clean. I can recommend these books to all my friends and even my daughter's friends. To me, that is huge.

My most sincere thanks to Lisa Bergren for writing such great books and letting me read them. Torrent comes out September 1st! I love, love, love the River of Time Series!

Torrent is AMAZING!

The River of Time is one of my favourite series so I was super excited to get my hands on an early copy of the final installment Torrent. And what an incredible read! It was everything I hope for and so much more.

Again Lisa Tawn Bergren has written another exciting and suspense filled plot. There are so many pulse pounding moments as Gabi and her love ones are never far from danger. But it isn't just action and adventure but also a insightful and meaningful story. It reminds you to appreciate every moment you have.

Gosh, I adore these characters. They are the type you admire and who inspire you to be a better person. It is always hard to pick a favourite out of this outstanding bunch but it would have to be Gabi with her strength, courage and kindness. She really has grown and mature so much in the series. Then you have Marcello and he is much more than just an Italian hottie. He is smart, loyal, brave and has such a beautiful and caring soul. In this installment Gabi's family plays such a large part of the story. It is great to read a book with such strong and positive family presence.

Now, talk about swoon. Torrent had plenty of heart melting moments. And I was surprised as another character tempted my heart away from Marcello (which I thought impossible). I wish I could say more but I don't want to spoil the book for you. I am hoping (and begging) that Lisa Tawn Bergren will decide to write this character a spin off series because I am in love again!

Overall, Torrent was amazing. My favourite out of the three and a perfect end to an unforgettable series. If you like stories full of adventure and romance then this is a must read.

Under the Reagan administration, for example, an aggressive radon policy proved an easy way to challenge the popular perception of an anti-environmental president. In the end, Cole convincingly argues for less strict radon regulations, and maintains that the average citizen must be involved in the decision-making process, and must be allowed to exercise her own informed judgment.

Objective and Useful

A worthwhile book. For those wanting to learn about radon, it is far better than the "dumbed down" publications the EPA provides to the general audience. Presents several points of view as to the possible radon health threat. The book also provides insight into how one U.S. federal standard (the 4 pCi/L "limit") was set. What this book really needs is an updated edition. A lot more data have been collected since this book was published in 1993.

Required Reading if You Are Worried About Radon

Yes, this book really needs an update, but if you are worried about radon levels in your home, this book is required reading. The author clearly presents the science of radon and its relationship to lung cancer. He thoroughly reviews the data and, most importantly, the uncertainties involved in linking lung cancer rates to radon levels. You will learn that there isn't much disagreement about the scientific data but it has been used to reach widely-varying public policies on acceptable radon levels. He does a fine job of presenting the policy positions of people who think that the EPA 4 pc/l limit is too high, too low, or "just right". The author's sympathies are clearly with those who maintain that the EPA limit is too low, and he argues effectively for using the 10-20 pc/l limit that is the policy in other countries, - specifically Canada, Sweden, and Norway.

A good bit of the book is devoted to reviews of the US media coverage of radon issues and the struggles that politicians have had with setting public policy. These sections contain some interesting stories of bureaucratic confusion and mismanagement, but this part of the book is mostly of interest to students of media and political science.

This careful (and ongoing) research shows that there is a measurable (10% to 20%) increase in the risk of lung cancer for 20 years of exposure at 4 pc/l and a roughly linear increasing risk at higher levels. Give this, I believe that the 4 pc/l action level is reasonable and you should consider remediation if your long-term (3 months or more) radon levels are above that level. And if you are a smoker, be aware that your increased risk is 10 to 30 times higher that a non-smoker. Quitting smoking will reduce your chances of getting lung cancer far more than anything you can do about radon.
