Mike Yorkey is the author, co-author, editor, or collaborator of one hundred books. He has written for The Los Angeles Times travel section, Skiing, Tennis Week, World Tennis, City Sports, and Racquet. He lives in Encinitas, California.
Jesse Florea has written and edited for Focus on the Family for over 20 years. As editorial director for youth publications, he oversees Clubhouse and Clubhouse Jr. magazines, and he co-hosts the “Official Adventures in Odyssey” podcast. Jesse has written or co-written more than a dozen books, including the best-selling devotionals The One Year Devos for Sports Fans and The One Year Father-Daughter Devotions. He lives with his wife, Stephanie, in Colorado Springs and enjoys hanging out with his two grown children.

Amazing book! Truly "Linspiring"

All Christian sports fans would love this book. I was truly "Linspired" by his rise to fame. Jeremy Lin was a Harvard graduate who was told he could never make it in the NBA. He pushed even harder, he put on some weight, and got stronger. All through this time he also prayed that he could make it and his new workout would be enough. He loved and trusted God enough to believe that he could make it to the NBA. Eventually he did make it to the NBA but he got cut many times before he finally signed with the Knicks. Most of the sports books that I have read do not have much about God in them. I liked this book because it is about God and it taught me to trust God through hard times.

Mike Yorkey's LINSPIRED Gives Hope, Inspiration to Anyone with a Dream

I am in no way a true sports fan, but I am someone who has a great deal of respect and admiration for a great story. LINSPIRED: The Remarkable Rise of Jeremy Lin by Mike Yorkey is a great story and one that is sure to leave you feeling inspired as well.
Jeremy Lin is someone that I had about mainly because of the news, but this book allow you to see him as a man who had a dream and though there were challenges along the way he didn't let anything hold him back or stop him. There are some who will be able to look at his story and say Wow, this is just the way I wish I could handle situations. The good news is that we can handle them the way Jeremy handles them starting today.
What motivates him? I think after reading the book I would have to say that it is his faith and the way his faith affects him. Jeremy shares what has kept him centered and grounded in the face of fame, and his faith gets the credit for that. He understands like so many others do that what he has done and will continue to do is not because of who he is but what he has been given. With that in mind we can all look at our accomplishments and abilities and say that we have been given an opportunity to shine in such a way that we can give glory to our Creator and let others see what is possible for them in their lives.
I loved this book because Jeremy Lin's light is so real and bright that it affects not just his fans but those who play with him and participate in other sports.
Something that will leave you feeling as though nothing is impossible for you, LINSPRIED is enough to inspire anyone with a dream.

I found this an easy read and very interesting

I found this an easy read and very interesting. It gives hope to the basketball player that feels he's maybe too short, looked passed or just not sure weather they should keep trying. Instead it inspires anyone can have their goal achieved. Especially for the middle school to high school age, because of the story is fun and fast. I bought it for my 14 year old grandson. He liked it.
